Pythium Insidiosum Phycomycosis

This case, which took place in 2006, had been using “Phycho-Fixer” from the University of Florida for months and had not seen results. Within 3 days of Fungus Free Plus Internal and Topical use, the entire infected piece of tissue sloughed off.

This horse also presented with a lesion on her right foot. It is common with Pythiosis to have more than one site affected. Pictures of the foot were unavailable from owner but she reported the foot is fine. Wounds that are unable to be wrapped tend to take more time to heal.
